ODELA Community Guidelines

Building a Helpful and Trusted Community

ODELA connects customers with restaurants, cafés, bakeries, cloud kitchens, and other local businesses.

These Community Guidelines are designed to help maintain a respectful, useful, safe, and trustworthy environment for everyone using ODELA.

ODELA is operated by Odela Technologies.

1. Be Respectful

Treat other users, business owners, employees, and ODELA representatives with respect.

Do not post content that contains:

  • Harassment
  • Threats
  • Bullying
  • Personal attacks
  • Abusive language
  • Hate speech
  • Discriminatory content
  • Deliberate humiliation
  • Other seriously inappropriate behavior

Disagreement is permitted, but it should be expressed respectfully.

2. Share Genuine Experiences

Reviews, ratings, photos, and other contributions should reflect genuine experiences.

Do not:

  • Post fake reviews
  • Review a business you have never interacted with
  • Create multiple accounts to manipulate ratings
  • Post reviews on behalf of another person without authorization
  • Coordinate misleading review campaigns
  • Intentionally provide false information

3. Keep Reviews Relevant

Reviews should focus on your experience with the business.

Relevant topics may include:

  • Food
  • Service
  • Cleanliness
  • Ambience
  • Pricing
  • Staff behavior
  • Facilities
  • Waiting time
  • Delivery experience
  • Overall customer experience

Avoid unrelated arguments, promotional spam, or content that does not help other users understand the business.

4. Honest Negative Reviews Are Allowed

Users may share genuine negative experiences.

A business cannot require ODELA to remove a review simply because it is critical or gives a low rating.

However, reviews must still comply with these Community Guidelines and the ODELA Review Policy.

5. No Review Manipulation

Businesses and users must not artificially influence reviews or ratings.

Prohibited activities include:

  • Buying positive reviews
  • Selling reviews
  • Creating fake accounts
  • Posting fake negative reviews about competitors
  • Offering improper incentives for misleading reviews
  • Threatening customers to remove legitimate reviews
  • Coordinating artificial rating campaigns

ODELA may remove manipulated content and restrict accounts involved in such activity.

6. Avoid Conflicts of Interest

Reviews should be independent.

Business owners, employees, close representatives, or competitors should not pretend to be ordinary customers to influence a business’s rating.

Where appropriate, relationships with a business should be disclosed.

7. Upload Appropriate Photos

Photos should be relevant to the business or customer experience.

Suitable content may include:

  • Food
  • Products
  • Menus
  • Business interiors
  • Business exteriors
  • Facilities
  • Genuine customer experiences

Do not upload:

  • Unrelated images
  • Explicit content
  • Graphic or disturbing material
  • Images intended to harass someone
  • Misleading images
  • Copyrighted images you do not have permission to use
  • Private information displayed without appropriate permission

8. Protect Personal Information

Do not publicly post another person’s sensitive personal information.

This may include:

  • Personal phone numbers
  • Home addresses
  • Private email addresses
  • Identity documents
  • Bank information
  • Passwords
  • OTPs
  • Card or UPI PINs
  • Other sensitive account information

Business contact information intentionally made public by a business may be displayed where appropriate.

9. No Spam

Do not use ODELA to distribute:

  • Repetitive advertisements
  • Unrelated promotional links
  • Referral spam
  • Fake offers
  • Malicious links
  • Repeated duplicate content
  • Automated spam
  • Other unwanted promotional content

10. Business Owners Must Be Transparent

Business owners and representatives must provide accurate information.

Do not:

  • Impersonate another business
  • Create fake locations
  • Publish misleading prices
  • Misrepresent facilities
  • Advertise unavailable services as guaranteed
  • Create unnecessary duplicate listings
  • Falsely claim another business

11. Offers Must Be Genuine

Businesses publishing offers, discounts, or coupons should clearly communicate important terms.

Do not advertise fake discounts or misleading promotional prices.

12. Respect Intellectual Property

Only upload content you have the right to use.

Do not improperly copy or publish:

  • Photos
  • Logos
  • Videos
  • Written content
  • Menus
  • Artwork
  • Trademarks
  • Other protected material

Intellectual property concerns can be reported through ODELA’s applicable copyright complaint process.

13. No Illegal or Harmful Activity

Do not use ODELA to promote, facilitate, or coordinate unlawful activity.

Content that creates significant safety, fraud, security, or legal risks may be restricted or removed.

14. No Impersonation

Do not pretend to be:

  • Another user
  • A business owner
  • An ODELA employee
  • A public authority
  • Another organization or individual

Business claims may be subject to verification.

15. Be Fair to Businesses and Customers

Customers should provide truthful feedback.

Businesses should respond professionally and avoid intimidating customers over legitimate reviews.

Both sides should use ODELA responsibly.

16. Reporting Content

If you believe a review, listing, photo, account, advertisement, or other content violates ODELA policies, you may report it.

Where possible, provide:

  • Relevant business name
  • Listing URL
  • Description of the issue
  • Relevant content or screenshot
  • Reason for reporting

Reports do not automatically result in removal. ODELA may review the content before taking action.

17. Enforcement

Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, ODELA may:

  • Remove content
  • Edit inappropriate information
  • Reject submissions
  • Restrict features
  • Remove reviews
  • Suspend listings
  • Remove verification
  • Restrict accounts
  • Suspend or terminate accounts
  • Take other appropriate action

Repeated or serious violations may result in stronger enforcement.

18. Appeals and Grievances

If you believe ODELA has taken action incorrectly, you may contact our support team with relevant details.

For matters requiring formal escalation, please refer to our Grievance Redressal process.

19. Guidelines May Change

ODELA may update these Community Guidelines as our platform, features, or applicable requirements evolve.
