ODELA Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy explains how users, business owners, advertisers, partners, and other visitors may use ODELA, a restaurant discovery and local business platform operated by Odela Technologies.

By accessing or using ODELA, you agree not to misuse the platform or use it in ways that violate applicable laws, the rights of others, or ODELA policies.

2. Use ODELA Lawfully

You may use ODELA only for lawful purposes.

You must not use ODELA to promote, facilitate, organize, or engage in unlawful activities.

3. Accurate Information

Information submitted to ODELA should be accurate and genuine.

You must not intentionally provide:

  • False business information
  • Fake addresses
  • Misleading contact information
  • Fraudulent business details
  • False ownership claims
  • Misleading offers or prices
  • Fake certifications
  • Other deliberately deceptive information

4. No Fake or Duplicate Accounts

Do not create accounts for fraudulent, abusive, deceptive, or manipulative purposes.

You must not create multiple accounts to:

  • Manipulate reviews
  • Artificially increase ratings
  • Avoid account restrictions
  • Impersonate other users
  • Submit repeated spam
  • Manipulate business listings
  • Abuse promotional features

5. No Impersonation

Do not impersonate:

  • Another user
  • A restaurant owner
  • A business
  • An employee
  • An ODELA representative
  • A government authority
  • Another organization or individual

Business ownership or management claims may be subject to verification.

6. No Review Manipulation

You must not manipulate ODELA reviews or ratings.

Prohibited activities include:

  • Fake reviews
  • Purchased reviews
  • Automated reviews
  • Coordinated rating manipulation
  • Fake negative reviews against competitors
  • Multiple accounts used to influence ratings
  • Improper incentives for misleading positive reviews
  • Threatening customers to remove legitimate reviews

Reviews must also comply with the ODELA Review Policy and Community Guidelines.

7. No Spam

Do not use ODELA to distribute:

  • Unsolicited advertisements
  • Repetitive promotional messages
  • Irrelevant links
  • Referral spam
  • Automated spam
  • Duplicate listings
  • Fake promotions
  • Misleading advertisements
  • Other unwanted commercial content

8. No Malicious Activity

You must not attempt to:

  • Introduce viruses or malware
  • Upload malicious code
  • Disrupt ODELA services
  • Interfere with servers or networks
  • Circumvent security measures
  • Gain unauthorized access to accounts
  • Probe for vulnerabilities without authorization
  • Interfere with another user’s access
  • Damage or degrade the platform

9. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your ODELA account.

Do not share your password or intentionally provide account access to unauthorized persons.

Notify ODELA if you reasonably believe your account has been compromised.

10. No Unauthorized Data Collection

You must not improperly collect, harvest, scrape, extract, or misuse information from ODELA in violation of applicable law, contractual restrictions, technical controls, or the rights of others.

Automated access that places unreasonable load on the platform or circumvents technical protections is prohibited unless expressly authorized by ODELA.

11. Respect Privacy

Do not publish another person’s sensitive personal information without an appropriate lawful basis or permission.

This may include:

  • Private phone numbers
  • Home addresses
  • Private email addresses
  • Identity documents
  • Financial information
  • Passwords
  • Authentication credentials
  • Other sensitive personal information

12. Intellectual Property

Do not upload or publish content that you do not have the right to use.

This includes unauthorized:

  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Logos
  • Written content
  • Menus
  • Graphics
  • Trademarks
  • Copyrighted materials
  • Other intellectual property

13. Business Listings

Business listings must comply with the ODELA Listing Policy.

You must not:

  • Create fake businesses
  • Create unnecessary duplicate listings
  • Falsely claim another business
  • Misrepresent a business location
  • Publish misleading business information
  • Upload unrelated or deceptive content

14. Advertising

Advertisements and promotional content must comply with the ODELA Advertising Policy.

Advertising must not be fraudulent, deceptive, unlawful, or misleading.

15. Offers, Discounts & Coupons

Businesses must not intentionally publish fake or misleading:

  • Discounts
  • Coupons
  • Promotional prices
  • Limited-time offers
  • Availability claims
  • Redemption conditions

Important offer conditions should be clearly communicated.

16. Reservations & Bookings

Users must not intentionally submit fraudulent or abusive reservation requests.

Businesses should manage booking information responsibly and avoid intentionally misleading customers regarding availability or confirmation.

17. Prohibited Content

ODELA may restrict content involving:

  • Illegal activity
  • Fraud
  • Threats
  • Harassment
  • Hate speech
  • Serious discriminatory abuse
  • Explicit or inappropriate material
  • Malicious content
  • Dangerous deception
  • Impersonation
  • Serious privacy violations
  • Other content that creates unacceptable safety, legal, or platform risks

18. Business Owner Conduct

Business owners and representatives must interact responsibly with customers and ODELA users.

Businesses must not:

  • Threaten customers over legitimate reviews
  • Harass reviewers
  • Publish customer private information
  • Manipulate ratings
  • Make fraudulent claims
  • Abuse ODELA communication features

19. Abuse of Support or Grievance Systems

Do not misuse ODELA support, reporting, or grievance processes by:

  • Submitting knowingly false complaints
  • Repeatedly submitting identical abusive requests
  • Threatening support personnel
  • Submitting fraudulent documents
  • Impersonating rights holders or business owners

Good-faith complaints and disagreements are permitted.

20. Circumvention

You must not intentionally circumvent:

  • Account suspensions
  • Listing restrictions
  • Verification requirements
  • Security controls
  • Content moderation
  • Payment restrictions
  • Other legitimate platform safeguards

21. Enforcement

If ODELA reasonably determines that this policy has been violated, we may take appropriate action such as:

  • Rejecting listings
  • Restricting features
  • Removing reviews
  • Suspending business listings
  • Removing verification
  • Restricting accounts
  • Temporarily suspending accounts
  • Terminating accounts
  • Taking other reasonable action

The action taken may depend on the nature, severity, and frequency of the violation.

22. Reporting Misuse

If you believe someone is misusing ODELA, please contact our support team.

Where possible, provide:

  • Relevant business or account name
  • ODELA URL
  • Description of the problem
  • Supporting screenshots or information
  • Reason you believe the activity violates this policy
