Business Verification

Building Trust on ODELA

ODELA uses business verification processes to help improve the accuracy, authenticity, and reliability of business information available on our platform.

Verification helps customers identify businesses whose ownership or business information has been reviewed using information available to ODELA.

ODELA is owned and operated by Odela Technologies.

What Is a Verified Business?

A verified business is a listing for which ODELA has completed an applicable verification process.

Where available, verified businesses may display a Verified indicator on their ODELA profile.

Verification may confirm certain information about a business or the authority of a person managing its listing.

Why Does ODELA Verify Businesses?

Business verification helps us:

  • Reduce fake or misleading listings
  • Prevent unauthorized business claims
  • Improve the accuracy of business information
  • Build greater trust between customers and businesses
  • Protect legitimate business owners
  • Reduce impersonation and fraudulent activity
  • Maintain the quality of the ODELA directory

Who May Need Verification?

Verification may be required when:

  • Claiming an existing business
  • Creating or managing certain business listings
  • Requesting changes to important business information
  • Applying for certain membership or promotional features
  • ODELA identifies unusual or conflicting information
  • Additional verification is necessary for security or trust purposes

How Does Business Verification Work?

Step 1 — Submit Your Information

You may be asked to provide basic information such as:

  • Business name
  • Owner or authorized representative name
  • Business address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Your role in the business
  • ODELA listing URL
  • Other relevant information

Step 2 — Verification

Depending on the business and circumstances, ODELA may use one or more reasonable methods to verify the information submitted.

Step 3 — Additional Information

If the information provided is insufficient or inconsistent, ODELA may request additional supporting information.

Step 4 — Review

Our team may review the information and determine whether the verification requirements have been satisfied.

Step 5 — Verification Status

If verification is successfully completed, the business may receive verified status or appropriate listing-management access where applicable.

Possible Verification Methods

Verification methods may include:

  • Business phone verification
  • Business email verification
  • Official website verification
  • Review of publicly available business information
  • Supporting business documentation
  • Other reasonable verification methods

The method used may vary depending on the type of business and the nature of the request.

Documents That May Be Requested

Where necessary, ODELA may request reasonable supporting information such as:

  • Business registration information
  • GST-related business information
  • FSSAI-related business information
  • Business licence
  • Registration certificate
  • Official business email
  • Business website
  • Other relevant proof connecting you with the business

Not every business will be required to provide the same documentation.

Please submit only the documents or information specifically requested by ODELA.

Protecting Your Information

Information submitted for verification should be used only for legitimate verification, security, compliance, or related platform purposes in accordance with ODELA’s Privacy Policy and applicable requirements.

Do not send passwords, OTPs, card PINs, UPI PINs, or other authentication secrets to ODELA for business verification.

ODELA will never need your banking PIN or account password to verify a business listing.

What Does the Verified Badge Mean?

A Verified badge indicates that ODELA has completed an applicable verification process for the listing.

It does not mean that ODELA:

  • Guarantees the quality of the business
  • Guarantees its products or services
  • Endorses every statement made by the business
  • Guarantees its licences indefinitely
  • Guarantees customer satisfaction
  • Guarantees the accuracy of every piece of information forever

Customers should continue to use appropriate judgment when dealing with any business.

Verification Can Be Reviewed

Verified status is not necessarily permanent.

ODELA may review, suspend, or remove verification if:

  • Business information becomes inaccurate
  • Ownership changes
  • The business closes
  • Fraudulent information is discovered
  • Verification was obtained through misrepresentation
  • The account violates ODELA policies
  • Additional verification becomes necessary

False Information

Submitting false documents, impersonating a business owner, or intentionally providing misleading verification information is prohibited.

Such activity may result in:

  • Rejection of the verification request
  • Removal of verified status
  • Listing restrictions
  • Account suspension
  • Removal from ODELA
  • Other appropriate action where necessary

Business Information Changes

Verified businesses should keep their information current.

If important details change, such as business ownership, phone number, address, name, or operating status, additional verification may be required.

Verification Time

Verification time may vary depending on the information submitted, verification method, and complexity of the request.

Providing complete and accurate information can help reduce delays.
